Community Projects
Contribute funds for California State University, Northridge Botanical Garden
 
Provide a wreath yearly for the Campo de Cahuenga Celebration of the signing of the treaty to make California a part of the United States
 
Celebrate Arbor Day by planting a tree at Orcutt Ranch with an appropriate ceremony
 
Provide three $500.00 scholarships to local horticultural students
 
Provide civic beauty awards to a local business and homeowner

Conservation Projects
Promote the use of California native plants and give a yearly donation to The Theodore Payne Foundation to help their propagation and preservation of California native flora

Provide funds for the Penny Pines Conservation Program and for the Expanded Reforestation and Restoration Fund

Educate members on types of local birds and butterflies, encourage them to provide water and sanctuary

Collect aluminum containers to provide funds for the Penny Pines program

Horticulture Projects
Hold workshops by our Master Judge of Flower Show Judges Council, Evelyn Warrington on floral design prior to regular meetings

Our horticulture chairman gives a report at the meetings, members bring unique specimens to display and discuss, horticulture tips are provided in each edition of our newsletter

Tours are held each year to a noteworthy garden, horticultural event or historical site

Youth Projects
Our Gardening Angels group help 5th graders at Calvert Street School maintain the rose garden

Promote Smokey Bear Poster Contest in local schools
