West Valley Garden Club
... serving central and western San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California

We have three tours planned for this year.

Theodore Payne Foundation Tour
As a follow up to the October program we are going on a car pool trip to the foundation’s site for a 1-1/2 hour docent lead tour. The tour is scheduled for Tuesday, November 17th.  Then we will have a picnic lunch in the Sycamore Grove.  Bring a brown bag lunch and $7-10 for the docent and to reimburse your driver.

Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks
The tour, scheduled for March 23rd, will be lead by two docents and take approximately one hour. Following the tour we will picnic in the garden. Bring a brown bag lunch. Cost TBD

Visit to Villa Di Fontani
This tour, scheduled for April 19th, is a fundraiser for the San Fernando Valley District. The site owned by Greg Nestor features ponds, pools, fountains, waterfalls in a lush secluded setting. The gardens were designed by a Walt Disney imagineer, who designed Main Street, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Matterhorn, etc. We will have a picnic lunch provided by Cherry Blossom Garden Club, San Fernando Valley Geranium Society and Woodland Hills Floral Designers.

Conejo Valley Botanic Garden
As a follow up to the January program we are going on a car pool trip to the gardens on Tuesday, January 20th. The group will leave from Field’s Market at 9:45 a.m. The tour starts at 10:30 and lasts about one and a half hours. A docent will lead the group and show us the “Trail of Trees” which is California State Garden Clubs Inc. President, Robin Pokorski’s special project. The garden is hilly so wear sturdy shoes.
